The drink I’m going to talk about is a supertonic.

It is something that I've incorporated into my daily routine and lifestyle. I am a believer in only recommending things that I use or have used myself. The drink that I'm talking about is Apple cider vinegar or ACV for short. Apple cider vinegar has a plethora of benefits but today I'm only going to focus on two benefits that are very important to women with PCOS.

The first main benefit of apple cider vinegar is that it aids in blood sugar regulation. Women with PCOS are often insulin resistant, pre-diabetic, or diabetic. This elixir can help you reduce blood sugar spikes. Apple cider vinegar blocks some of the digestion of starches or carbohydrates that are ingested. Therefore, preventing blood sugar spikes. Studies have shown that individuals who drink apple cider vinegar with higher carb meals have a lower blood sugar than those who did not partake in the drink. It also helps reduce those strong sugar cravings.

The second benefit of apple cider vinegar is that is aids in weight loss, particularly the loss of fat (which is what everyone wants to lose). Apple cider vinegar helps to suppress your appetite and increase your metabolism which will assist you in your weight loss efforts. You still need to exercise and eat healthy but apple cider vinegar can give you that little extra boost that your body needs to lose that stubborn fat.

So, here's the important thing you need to know about taking apple cider vinegar. You need to buy the apple cider vinegar that contains “the mother”. The most common brand with “the mother” that you'll see is Braggs, which is a great brand. You don’t have to buy Bragg’s, there are other brands as well, you just need to make sure it says it is raw, unfiltered, and with the mother intact. You will know you're buying the right one because it should appear cloudy, murky brown in color.

Here’s how you should take it. I would recommend 2 tablespoons a day. Pick the times when you tend to have your bigger meals and take it with them. Before you eat anything, mix 1 tablespoon of apple cider with 8 ounces of water, you need to dilute it or you will be sorry. Drink it right before you take your first bite to eat. It is an acquired taste and one that you will get used to, just remember all the benefits that it is offering you!

*An important note to mention, you should NOT drink apple cider vinegar during pregnancy. It is unpasteurized and could cause harm to the baby.
