The Best Women's Workout Shorts I've Ever Tried
I have been on the hunt for a decent pair of workout shorts for several years now. Personally, I am not a fan of women’s running shorts; I hate the built-in undies that always ride up and give you a big ole wedgie! It seems like those type of shorts are all that you can find in stores. As I struck out on my quest for the perfect pair of workout shorts, I felt like Goldilocks in the Three Bears until I finally found the pair that was just right. The workout shorts that I have recently discovered and am loving on are by Tek Gear (I believe Tek Gear are exclusively at Kohl’s).
Here’s the lowdown on these shorts. They are a mid-rise short; they have a 5-inch inseam, and they are relaxed through the hip and thigh. Yes, they are longer than most female athletic shorts, however, when you are working out you want to be comfortable and maintain an appropriate amount of coverage if you know what I mean! What’s nice about them is that they have a contoured hem, which is a much more flattering and feminine look than the traditional straight across cut.
The shorts are made of polyester and spandex which provides comfort and flexibility. They are also labeled as moisture-wicking which helps to draw moisture away from the body. Another great feature is the wide elastic waistband which I love because they hide certain trouble areas, a.k.a. the muffin top. Overall, I found them to provide a flattering fit while still being comfortable.
In addition to how they look, they have great functionality. They have two sizeable front pockets which are convenient if you need some place to store your keys or phone when you are going out for a walk or quick errand. It’s very difficult to find women’s workout shorts that have pockets! I needed to know just how well these shorts would perform, so I put them on, got myself to out the gym and crushed one of my most vigorous workouts to see how they would hold up. I couldn’t have been happier with how the Tek Gear shorts looked and felt! I liked that they didn’t ride up when I was working out or even when walking. I felt really comfortable and better yet, covered; two of my must-haves when I am working out.
If you are interested in checking out these shorts by Tek Gear, here are a some details you must know. These shorts retail for $26, but be sure to watch for sales at Kohl’s because I was able to get them for only $11.99! They offer them in a variety of colors, but the colors available in the stores were pretty limited. For more color options try looking on the web. Tek Gear offers a variety of sizes ranging from an X-Small to an X-Large, and they have a plus size line. I think these are a quality pair of workout shorts for women who want a little more coverage and who still want to look cute!
